I like to blog about current software design and development projects, as well as general everyday news and events. I'm passionate about what I do and you can follow my personal journey through my blog. I'm constantly on the lookout for new development techniques and technologies to keep on top of the changing market, so if I do miss anything feel free to leave me a comment.

Keeping busy

April 11th, 2007

It seems that my life revolves around UNI work :(

I have so much work to get done in a short period, everything is just full on. So I haven’t had the time to write anything new in here. I spent the night last Monday at UNI finishing of a lab for Embedded Systems. In case you are wandering what the lab was about – I had to write some low level C to write/read from an EEPROM.

I should mention that football is going well; we had our first game for the season a week ago and won 3:2 :)

If you take a look at the guestbook you’ll see that an old friend from Germany found me through Google, it’s been nice catching up with him. I haven’t spoken to him in over 8 years and was surprised to hear he moved to the USA a few years ago.

Back to UNI

March 11th, 2007

UNI started two weeks ago and there’s already a lot of work to be done but on the bright side some of it is very interesting.

In a subject called Embedded Systems our project is to develop a simple operating system for a Motorola chip using C.

I’m also doing Software Architecture this semester, don’t think I’ll enjoy this much hehe
but let’s see how things go.

The third subject being done this semester is Database Fundamentals, an easy subject :)

I should also mention that Google has indexed my web site :)

Online

February 16th, 2007

For history purposes, I should mention that the website went online and available to the public on Friday, 16th February 2007.

In just over a week I have had over 200 people visit the site and over 7200 hits.

90.3% of those people use a Windows operating system, 5.3% Linux, 3.5% Macintosh and the rest unknown.

To my surprise 47.3% use Firefox while 41.5% Internet Explorer, 6.1% Opera and the rest is just small fish. I thought most would still be using Internet Explorer.

I have made small changes to the site, mainly code wise from suggestions I received. One or two people said that the website is dull. The whole point is to keep things simple, easy to navigate and the colours do a great job. Looking from a professional point of view the website is excellent, at least that’s what I have been told by people that are in the web design business and I happen to agree with them :)

Up and running

February 12th, 2007

It has finally arrived, my personal web site :)

I always wanted to make one but could never find the time to do so. I started working on designs early 2006 but couldn’t come up with a design I liked, UNI started and I had to stop. In December 2006 I was looking at other personal web sites and once again I was inspired. The site you see here is the end result, its Strict HTML 4.1 compliant and contains no CSS errors :)

I got my own domain and web space, something I did not have in the past. If I’m going to have a proper web site that will be kept up to date with regular updates, it’s only fair that I have those two services as well :)

At the moment the news section is static, it doesn’t use any kind of CMS but I plan on changing that in near future.
